First Encounter

Contemporary Impressionism.

This painting was inspired by a day filming and sketching a family of Amur (Siberian) Tigers. The family were cooling off in the mid day sun and this youngster was stalking and chasing dragonflies. He was comical to watch and I decided this would make a charming subject to paint. The fur and leaves took many weeks to complete and the dragonfly acts as the focal point.

Chunky canvas, painted around the edges to provide a contemporary unframed statement piece.

Zoe is an award winning artist and her paintings are in many public and private collections around the world.
