Malham Heights

SOLD

This painting of Malham Cove, North Yorkshire was inspired by Emily Bronte's literary masterpiece 'Wuthering Heights. Malham Cove is a very well known tourist attraction and would have been well known to the Bronte family. More recently the unique limestone formation featured in the Harry Potter film 'The Deathly Hallows'.

The day I visited it was a hot summer day so I had to adapt my reference material to give my painting a more Gothic brooding atmosphere. The crows or actually Jackdaws are actual residents of the cove!

Framing is not required as I've painted round the sides of the canvas. The painting is signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
